Jason Bodin Marketing MVP

While working with Gaylord Hall Productions, I served as Lead Editor on two University of Oklahoma Distinguished Alumni award profile video stories. Jason Bodin is a University of Oklahoma alum currently serving as Paycom’s EVP of PR and Marketing. Jason began his career at Paycom as part of a team of five marketing professionals and worked his way up to leading a team of approx. 140 Paycom employees today. We scheduled a sit-down talking head interview with Jason on the basketball court of the Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City.

During the post-production process, my responsibilities included organizing, managing, and labeling footage in a shared network drive, syncing interview video and audio, and cutting the interview and audio into sub-clips to use in the final cut. The story heavily focused on the partnership between Paycom and the Oklahoma City Thunder. We spent time at the Paycom Center shooting interviews and b-roll on the court and around the arena, along with a meeting at the Paycom headquarters. We maintained frequent communication with Paycom for aerial b-roll footage of the Paycom Center and the Paycom headquarters, as well as OU Athletics for archival b-roll footage of Jason’s dad, Jeff, who played for the University of Oklahoma’s football team. More b-roll included clips from Paycom’s ‘Unnecessary Action Hero’ commercial campaign, as well as news clips from local Oklahoma television news covering the major name change from the Chesapeake Energy Arena to the Paycom Center. All footage, sound, and music falls under the category of Fair Use.
