Gaylord In-Depth -Domestic Violence in Oklahoma story
August 2023 - December 2024

  • Covered political and social issues with an investigative approach to news reporting.

  •  Filmed and edited an in-depth story bringing awareness to Oklahoma’s high domestic violence rate and providing resources for victims.

  • Conducted in-depth research on domestic violence statistics. Gathered and analyzed complex data to present in an understandable manner.

  • Learned crisis communication skills by effectively communicating about challenging and emotional topics and managing difficult conversations.

  • Demonstrated ethical journalistic practices by handling the story and interview with survivors with sensitivity and care.

British Media Studies - U.K. Study Abroad Program June 2024

  • Participated in a three week study abroad course to visit news, advertising and public relations agencies in London, Bristol, and Cardiff.

  • Gained global industry knowledge of the media industry trends and practices in an increasingly interconnected media landscape.

  • Improved networking skills by building connections with top media professionals and experts.

  • Showcased public speaking skills by presenting speakers with a gift and brief speech thanking them for their information and time.

Gaylord Hall Productions- Production Crew Member August 2024- May 2025

  • Projects included "Larger than Life," "Shining Bright," "Jason Bodin Marketing MVP," and "Jill Simpson Right Place Right Time"

  • Worked for the University of Oklahoma's award-winning in-house client video production services.

  • Listened to clients' needs and executed projects in a timely manner as a team.

  • Communicated closely with OU Fine Arts to advertise upcoming shows. Organized, labeled, and managed footage and projects in shared network drive.

  • Awarded a Gold Telly, Heartland Emmy, and BEA Award of Excellence for editing a "Larger than Life" to recruit prospective students to OU Fine Arts.

  • Acquired diverse film industry skills across technical (electric/lighting) and administrative (office/accounting) domains through classroom and hands-on professional experiences.
